And now, in news completely unrelated to the Zef, SPRING BREAK ’10: HAVANA NIGHTS?

April 13, 2009

The Washington Post just announced news that President Obama is to lift Cuba Travel Restrictions, and will relax rules about what goods can be carried to and from the island by Cuban Americans visiting family.

The decision does not lift the trade embargo on communist Cuba but eases the prohibitions that have restricted Cuban Americans from visiting their relatives and has limited what they can send back home.

A White House aide said the president believes that democratic change will come to the Cuban nation more quickly if the United States reaches out to the people of Cuba and their relatives in the United States.

But the move is highly controversial, especially among those who supported former president George W. Bush’s hardline policy, which viewed the restrictions as a way of spurring political change.

HOLY GUACAMOLE, NERDS. THIS NEWS IS AWESOME. I’ve been wanting to go to Cuba forever, basically. Everyone knows that it used to be quite the sassy vacation spot back in the day, and it’s one of the only Caribbean islands I haven’t yet visited.

Also, this is probably gonna make me look super creepy on their stats but I don’t care: UM, HOT CANADIAN BOYS IN CUBA. TWO OF MY FAVORITE COUNTRIES CONVERGE. You know, just saying.

WHOS IN FOR THE OLYVIL CUBA TRIP, 2010?!! Let’s do this.

SURPRISING, I KNOW. When I go to Cuba, I will bring a cardboard cut out of him with me, so that he can be involved in this news too.
